A drafting engine for long-form prose

A desk for your drafts

Platenwell is a drafting engine. It was made to feel like a digital typewriter with the power of a wiki behind it.

If you are looking to make properly formatted documents, I recommend LibreOffice or Cryptpad, which respect your privacy and promote human-first creativity.

  • Write

Draft on a page that renders as you go. Link to any note in your project with [[Easy Links]], and take advantage of Focus Mode, In-Line Comments, and Version History!

  • Notes

An interconnected space for worldbuilding. Connect notes to each other and back to your on-going drafts with [[Links]] and tags!

  • Export

Take your work with you anytime in Markdown format. Your work is always in your control.

  • Collaborate

Co-author, edit, and get input in realtime with Invite Codes or Reader Links that need no account.

Typo the cat

The house cat

Hey, I’m Typo!

I LIVE HERE!!! I sit on your drafts (so so gently, promise), zoom magic links straight to your inbox, nap hard on blank dashboards, and go WIDE-EYED when a page gets really long!!

If you see me around: HIIIIIII!!!

Can be friends?
