What is Platenwell?

Platenwell is a quiet Markdown writing suite with a WYSIWYG editor, a linked notes binder, multiplayer, and the ability to export to markdown. It is proprietary software hosted on Supabase and Netlify.

I love Obsidian, Ulysses, Scrivener, and Highland and they are the real inspirations here. That being said, while I enjoy aspects of all of these, I wanted an app that finally fit the way my mind works.

The editor is built on Milkdown Crepe, frankensteined with Yjs and various parts of MarkText, SilverBullet, Foam, and Superscript. MIT notices for those projects live on the Open Source Notices page.

Typewriter sounds in the app are from Joseph Sardin at Big Sound Bank.
